Last Sunday a program aired on PBS called "Bob Vila's Guide to Historic
Homes of America." He toured historic houses and museums.  What was
distressing was that he stroked and pawed the furniture pieces, while the
director/curators stood by (one remarking that a piece was on loan from
the Met), and in one case, even joined in.  I just couldn'e believe it.
Did anyone else see it?
