Hi all-

I'm just about to complete my PhD in anthropology (should be finished by
mid-to-late November) and I'm looking for a museum position. I'm hoping that
some of you who subscribe to this list either know of positions or leads
for positions. I'll highlight some of my training/qualifications just
briefly for anyone interested:

*BA, Anthropology, U. of Pittsburgh
*MA, Museum Studies, U. of Kansas
*PhD (soon), Anthropology, Australian National University

Museum Experience:
-Presently co-curating a major exhibition with a Dutch Museum set to open in
Leiden in 2001.

Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of Natural History
1995-1997

Research Collaborator and Program Assistant, Department of Anthropology,
Asian Cultural History Program.

MA included training in:
· Museum Management, Human Resources (needs assessment and supervision,
long-range planning and development) and Physical Plant (audience
accessibility, security, and environmental monitoring),
· Collections Management (registration, conservation, integrated pest
management, collections accessibility),
· Exhibitions (interpretation, storyline development, artefact and
technology selection),
· Public Education (design of public programming for History, Art,
Anthropology, and Natural History Museums).

As a requirement of the program I had both paid and unpaid internships
and/or hands-on training in:
· Museum and Events Management (University of Kansas, Museum of
Anthropology)
· Exhibitions (National Agriculture Hall of Fame, Bonner Springs, KS)
· Public Education (University of Kansas Museum of Natural History, Spencer
Museum of Art, Lawrence, KS)
· Collections Management (Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO;
University of Kansas Museum of Anthropology, Kansas Museum of History)
· Exhibition and Collections Research (National Museum of Natural History,
Smithsonian Institution; Spencer Museum of Art, University of Kansas Museum
of Anthropology)

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Regards,

Todd
