To answer that perennial question: "Why don't you just get a volunteer in?"
I would like to know if anyone has hard numbers on the number of hours of
staff time it takes to recruit, supervise, train, and maintain a volunteer
core.  On average, how many hours of staff time go into one hour of
effective volunteer time?

I'll share whatever I learn with the list.
