Rachel,

Often conservators are called in to assess the condition of art objects, the
materials that they are made of, and to either make recommendations as to
their suitability for reproduction. Sometimes the conservator will do the
moldmaking of the art object to ensure that the object will be minimally affected by
the materials and process.

I would recommend that your refer the person who contacted you to the AIC's
"Guide for Conservation Services" where they can locate several conservators in
the region who may be able to aid in their request.
