Please Excuse Cross-Postings!!

I need help in writing a job description for a 50-100% time internal
evaluator for a technology project in science/social studies/culture.
Can anyone give me any ideas? Are there standard expectations in the
evaluation business? I'd ideally like someone who has experience both
in the formal and informal education sectors.

Here's my start!
==================
POSITION OPENING: Internal Evaluator for Technology/Web-Based Project

The Dakota Science Center is looking for an internal evaluator for a
web-based, science/social studies/culture project. The project,
NatureShift! Linking Learning to Life, is funded by the Technology
Challenge Grant program of the U.S. Department of Education. Three
years remain of this 5 year project. We are creating web based
curricula that link directly to our exhibits through telerobotics, kits
and other methods. We have pilot sites in 10 locations across the state
of North Dakota. Considerable amount of travel will be required for
site visits.

Our pilot sites include 5 school districts, each different in their
ethnic and cultural populations, 2 public libraries, a history museum, a
science center, and the state park system. Our partners include the
pilot site institutions, plus a private sector business, the state Game
& Fish Department, the University of North Dakota.

An advanced degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Experience in
evaluation in both informal and formal education sectors will be
considered a valuable asset. Must be able to work with project education
specialists, web and programming specialists, graphic designers, and
exhibit developers, in defining and writing evaluation instruments, for
both on and off line uses. Individual must be competent in many
different aspects of evaluation, including the use of both qualitative
and quantitative research methodologies, and should be familiar with
technology based and web-based learning projects. Responsibilities may
include management of small team of graduate students to assist in
evaluation activities.

The internal evaluator will work closely with the NatureShift! Project
Director, and with the project's external evaluator. It is preferred
that the internal evaluator maintain an office with the project staff,
and become a constructive critic and team member of the project,
although creative alternatives may be proposed.

Position is available immediately. Please send resume and salary
history to:
