The current issue  of *Common Ground: Archeology and Ethnography in
the Public
Interest* has a number of articles on collections and curation of
archaeological material, including a provocative piece by Robert
Sonderman on "Primal Fear: Deaccessioning Collections."

Worth reading, and in fact I recommend the entire issue.
