             National Museum of American Art (NMAA)
 
NMAA is pleased to announce TEACHART, a listserv established to
extend discussions at the Museum's 1994 Summer Institutes For
Teachers.
 
Part of NMAA's National Arts and Humanities Education Program, the
workshops will emphasize multidisciplinary educational strategies,
design and implementation of lesson plans, assessment and
evaluation, and more based on the topics:
 
               Public Sculpture: America's Legacy
               African-American Artists: Affirmation Today
 
Because of space and other resource limitations, the Museum was
unable to accept many applicants to these free Summer Institutes.
TEACHART has been established to permit broad discussion on these
topics as well as other areas relevant to the use of museum
resources in education.
