EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
SOTTERLEY

The Sotterley Foundation seeks an executive director beginning early
2002. Sotterley Plantation is an eighteenth-century National Landmark
Site in historic southern Maryland, in the midst of a comprehensive
federal and state funded restoration program, with active, award winning
educational programming. The applicant should have outstanding
administrative and development skills, be able to work with a dynamic
Board, and demonstrate the ability to maintain Sotterley's high profile
within the historic preservation community. Minimum qualifications
include a Master's Degree in a museum-related field, such as history,
anthropology, American studies, or museum studies, or comparable
experience; a strong background in sound fiscal project management and
fundraising; and the motivation to develop and maintain an innovative
holistic approach to site use and interpretation.
Salary is competitive and includes benefits. Applications will be reviewed
beginning November 30, 2001, and will continue until the position is filled.

Please send resumes to The Search Committee, Sotterley Foundation,
PO Box 67, Hollywood, Maryland 20636.
