Since this is such an interesting press release, I am going to include the
whole flyer (slightly edited). There is also a web site to visit:
http://www.getnet.com/~amdreamr/ .

ChequerBoard Tech Division of the American Dreamer Library announces,
EVERTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE P-51 MUSTANG. Volume 1, Set 1 is
being distributed on CD-ROM.

This is an innovative project that combines original manuals with war stories
and videos to bring aviators, owners, operators, and aviation enthusiasts a
history-making book.

Going beyond other book projects, EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE
P-51 MUSTANG is being produced as a CD-ROM Set of Sets expected to exceed
10,000 pages.

Volume 1, Set 1, now being shipped, contains on one CD-ROM, the entire P-51B/C
Flight Handbook as well as the generic P-51 Inspection book and selections of
2-10 pages from every other 51 manual. Vol. 1 also features war stories told
by engineers and pilots of the P-51. These stories include text, audio, and
video about the use of the P-51, not just during wartime, but problems,
solutions and thoughts about current use of the aircraft.

Finally, there is a better way to not only use but also preserve original
manuals. By transferring original manuals to CD-ROM, anyone can now own a
complete set of them for a fraction of the cost of a copy. In Vol.1, Set 1, as
well as the entire Set of Sets, one is able to enlarge manual pages, diagrams,
and pictures to catch detail 2-5 times better that the original. Each page,
along with the enlarged view, is also printable, alleviating the risk of loss
of original information with oil smudges or other damage. Another valuable
aspect is the notes capability which allows users to add notes to the program
pages that can be used as reminders as to what point in the project they are
at. The notes can also be used as messages for other crew members who are
going to finish the repair.

Along with all these features, the program also has comprehensive search
capabilities. If, for example, you are working on the valves, you can find the
valves and a part number of a bolt or spring associated with the valves IN
SECONDS without having to wade through hundreds of pages.

The manuals are all in color and can be printed in color with a color printer.

UPDATE

People have asked if further disks will be on the Mustang or other aircraft.
The answer is BOTH. Over the coming months further volumes of EVERYTHING YOU
EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE P-51 MUSTANG will be produced and distributed.
ChequerBoard Tech is also planning to release CD-ROM sets of other great
Warbirds such as AT-6, T-28, and other requested airplanes.

EVERYTHING is compiled and written by Frederick Kohler, who grew up in the
aircraft war-surplus business. His mother, Valerie Bonzer, and stepfather E.D.
Weiner owned V&B Aircraft Sales. In addition, Weiner raced the ChequerBoard
Mustang for many years, tying with Paul Mantz for the most wins in
cross-country races. Weiner flew almost every ex-military warplane from
1940-1960. For more information, contact:
