do you know WHY the Israelis are restricting SOME ambulences from entering?
because for years Palestinians have used ambulences as bombs on wheels.
unless they can be searched and regarged as safe, there is no way they are
getting through. it is horrible that people aren't getting the medical
attention they need, but what choice does the army have?
and what about the israelis who are killed walking to school, commuting to
work, or praying at the western wall and during the most holy of holidays?
are they not equally deserving of our compassion? Israel has an official army
-- in war, you target the army, not the civilians. Yes, i know the
Palestinian civilians are being targeted -- they are the army.
i do not believe that the israelis are saints, but what else are they
supposed to do? how can you negotiate with someone who wants to wipe you off
the face of the earth? do you just give up the land you rightfully won?
(should america give back texas?!) do you give over all your land, including
jerusalem, the most holy site for many religions, so that your enemies can
move in and completely obliterate everyone except their own kind?
Arafat could have stopped this years ago. unfortunately, he was stubborn, he
wanted more than israel could give without giving up their right to exist.
i'm not going to comment on the nazi reference, as i sincerely hope it was
written in a moment of reckless passion and not thought through. (ps -- when
was the last time you heard Israelis "crying out all the the attrocities"
that were done to them by the Nazis?)
though i really hope this thread is off the list soon, i cannot sit here and
let falsities and irrational thought dominate this important, however inapp
ropriate, thread.

ps Palestinians have "no external support"?! what about the 92 million raised
last week in a telethon? what about the whole world calling on Israel to just
let Palestinians do whatever they want? what about the double standard of "we
won't sit down with terrorists" and then trying to appease Arafat?!
