At an institution where I used to work, the secretary and I talked a local
floral nursery into donating a small basil plant and petunia in clay pots
for each volunteer.  We added a little card that said something like "You
are the color and spice of _____ Musuem."  The volunteers loved it and I
still hear stories about how well the plants did in their gardens!
