The Hibel Museum of Art, Cape Cod is seeking a college age intern to work in
our facility and to learn how a museum is
managed for the summer and perhaps year round.  The positions may be full or
part-time, and will be based upon student
schedules, work and classroom experience, travel distances, and our needs.

The Hibel Museum of Art operated by the Edna Hibel Foundation has recently
opened a branch in Hyannis, MA.  The Hibel
Museum of Art has been located in Palm Beach County Florida for the past 24
years.  The artist Edna Hibel, for whom the
museum is dedicated, grew up in the Boston Area and was educated at the
Boston School of Fine Arts.

The museum's mission is to preserve and exhibit the Renaissance-style and
Impressionist style art of renowned artist Edna
Hibel.  The museum will be organizing travelling exhibitions, and
educational activities for adults and children.  The intern will
assist the Director of the Cape Cod branch in all phases of museum
operations.

Duties shall include:
*  Setting up exhibitions
*  Describing exhibitions to individual and group tours
*  Community outreach and relations
*  Operations of a museum store and gallery
*  Long term planning, multi-tasking, and goal implementation

Requirements:
*  Upper class level undergraduate status, or graduate student
*  Good verbal presentation skills
*  Familiarity with computers
*  Flexibility and ability to work towards deadlines
*  Excellent research and writing skills
*  Orientation to public cultural needs
*  Art history, museum studies, or fine arts background/major area of study
*  Prior experience in museum work or gallery/store environment helpful
*  Proximity to Cape Cod, or ability to relocate for term of internship
