I am searching for information about and works by an artist named Mary Monrad
Frederiksen (Ufer). She was married to Walter Ufer, an artist who was a
founder of the Taos, New Mexico art colony. Mary was born in Denmark, and
studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. She died in New York in 1947. She
had a niece, Christine (Mrs. Louis E.) Wise, who lived in Appleton, WI from
at least 1947-1960. I am also looking for this niece or any heirs. If any
of you have works by Mary in your collection (generally signed Mary
Frederiksen) or any information about her or her family or other contacts,
please e-mail me at [log in to unmask] or call Teresa Ebie, 505-624-6744
(days) or 505-625-2041 (evenings). I apologize for the length of this
message.
