The National Museum of Health and Medicine in Washington, DC has a

OVERALL DESCRIPTION OF JOB :

Participates in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating NMHM/AFIP
programs for the general public as well as special audiences.  Works with
the exhibit department during conceptualization, design and installation
phase of exhibitions.  Prepares reports and analyses as requested.  Assists
with the marketing of Public Programs.  Assists with the planning and
implementation of tours and Docent training.  Also assists in the
development of collaborative educational programs with schools, organization
partnerships, youth groups, volunteer program and grant applications.
Develops and conducts teacher workshops; develops and produce education
technology programs, conceptualizes program content and collaborates with
museum staff to implement programs.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (USE BULLET FORMAT):
        Include how many people report to and are evaluated by incumbent,
scope of job, level, independent judgment vs routine work:

        *       Develop, implement, and evaluate museum programs and other
projects, as assigned by Public Programs Coordinator.

        *       Participate in exhibition development.

        *       Participate in grant application development  and grant
implementation as related to public programs.



MAJOR QUALIFICATIONS :

        Education Required: Bachelors degree in Museum related field

        Prior Experience Required: Two years of experience in museum
education or related fields.

        Other Mandatory Requirements: Excellent writing and speaking skills,
excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
