In recreating a portion of a "forest" at "sunset" for a recent exhibit, we
used AromaSys to dispense pine scent, lighting which incorporated barndoors,
gels, and spots to create the sunset effect, hidden speakers in the "forest"
for the nature sounds that were part of our audio CD, and an
almost-totally-handmade "forest" of trees, plants, wildflowers, a fallen
log, mushrooms, shelf fungus, etc. Collection-related concerns (such as not
using real, organic materials with accompanying pest problems) and safety
concerns (since the "forest" is within reach of visitors) were primary
issues for us.

We'd be happy to share some of the "fakery" that we used on the "forest"
project if you're interested.
