My advice is:
Just say NO to administrative requests for loans from your collection for
their homes and offices. You cannot fulfill your responsibilities to the
collection if it is scattered all over the campus. If you think it's hard
to tell your president she can't have your Hockney in her bathroom, think
how hard it would be to tell her she had destroyed it!! Our solution has
been to produce at least one really nice color poster every year which we
offer gratis around the college.
