I recently attended a wonderful workshop on termite infestation, and judging
from the cautions of the presenter (a professional entymologist and I can't
remember his name and can't find his card) you should proceed very carefully
before investing in a commercial exterminator. It would be in your best
interest to contact a professional entymologist to give an unbiased opinion.
I think contacting the ag extension unit is a great idea. Don't do anything
until you get a non-commercial second opinion.

Best wishes,
