I agree with the suggestions by Colin, but would add that it may also be
desirable for the exit door to be opened by a "crash-bar" - ie, one-way only
- no entry possible - and that the door be alarmed with no possibility of
turn-off.  I would urge you to check with the local fire authorities on the
need for a second exit from the room - I think you will find that one is
required.
