Hello, I'd like to introduce myself as I'm new to Museum-L. My name is
Cris Wolf and I'm the Collections Manager at the University of Iowa
Hospitals and Clinics Medical Museum. We're a small museum, about 3,000
artifacts, books, and photographs. Much of our collection has not been
formally accessioned (the museum was opened 7 years ago) and I have been
working on completing an inventory. The next step is acquiring a software
package that is appropriate to our needs. We have a staff of four people -
myself, the director, and two student assistants. Because of the high
turnover among the student staff, I'm looking for a database program that
is very user-friendly. We also currently have 3 Macintosh computers and no
PCs but may be in the market to buy a PC soon. Does anyone know of a good
collections software program for small museums other than SNAP! (which I'm
currently researching)? Any experience-based comments on SNAP! for
windows? Thank you for any comments or suggestions.
Cris
