Dear L. Herr,

My family has been in the window covering business for quite awhile and I
would have to say that in your situation shades would be much more effective
than blinds in keeping light out. Verticals can get a little difficult to
handle with windows that are very long, and in general shades or curtains
with some kind of blackout lining would are most effective. If you have any
further questions please let me know and I can put you in touch with them in
case you need general price estimates or any additional information.

Jean Kim
