[log in to unmask] had asked if anyone had any experience digitzing microfilm.
The following folks may be of some help:
 
Ann Shaw, register of deeds of Randolph County, NC, has contracted with a
commercial provider to transfer microfilm images of deeds to optical disk.

Steve Albright, with the NC State Treasurer's Office, has an RFP on the
street that includes the transferal of 5,000,000 records on fiche to optical
disk. You might want to wait til the responses are back. His phone number is

Robert Fry, with Burroughs Wellcome Co., has a project in place that transfers
16mm microfilm to 15 inch optical disk. He is at (919) 315-4958
