Well now that I have been hit from all sides (and have
become even more muddled than when I started!) I
wanted to say thank you all for the input.

I really love education, and I am sure whatever I do
will involve education.  Maybe working somewhere else
and doing the adjunct thing in the evening.  I am sure
my path will present itself shortly.

I hope I didn't offend anyone by saying that I would
work somewhere and then get the teaching position.  I
understand that museums should be careers.  But
something else to think about in today's economy is
that often a career is one or two years tops.  So I am
sure there is a lot of biding time til the next big
thing comes along.

On something else, I saw this skills needed later, and
I was wondering how I could demonstrate I have these
skills without direct experience in them.    As an
example, I do web design, how do I demonstrate that I
know how without an actual job in a design firm?  I
know I could make a heck of an
administrator/educator/whatnot, but without degrees in
those, I lose.  I am this very dynamic versatile
person that studies everything he can get his hands on
and therefore I have studied everything from history
to business to politics if I know it will help me in
the future.  Except now I am feeling like I will never
be able to do those things without working a billion
jobs to demonstrate to that one key job that I can do
this all.

Lastly, can someone tell me what a registrar does.  I
come from the world of buildings, so I dont know all
that I should about the museum internal workings.  I
understand all of the bits and pieces except
registrar.  I think of a college registrar and I dont
think that is quite right.
