I have looked in the archives thinking that surely this subject has come
up before, but can find very little so will cast this out to the list.
Our museum will soon be moving into a new building and will be
contracting with a cleaning service for our janitorial needs.  I am
pretty sure this is not a good idea but am told this is the way it will
be.  So- I am in the process of developing guidelines for cleaning all
the galleries and other spaces where collections will be present.  My
question is, is there a list of recommended cleaning supplies/solutions
for such areas?  They will not be cleaning artifacts but will be
cleaning the cases, vitrines, floor, signage, and just about everything
else. The liquid cleaning solutions (ammonia, chlorine, etc) are what I
am most concerned about since I am sure spray bottles and mops will be
the tools of choice.  Thank you in advance for any information you can
