New State of the art facility (190,000sq. ft.) offers an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled design professional to lead its growing exhibits team. Located in a thriving and supportive university community near Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, University of Oklahoma, is seeking a Head of Education.  Responsible for supervising exhibits staff and coordinating development of permanent, traveling, and temporary exhibitions, the successful candidate should be committed to a team-oriented, visitor-sensitive approach to exhibition development.  Requirements include a masteršs degree in a relevant field of design with a minimum of 36 months (with supervisory experience) in a museum, zoo, science center, environmental education center, or professional design firm  OR  a bacheloršs degree with 48 months experience.  The position is permanent with a starting salary $37,000-$42,000 plus full benefits, depending on education and experience. Responsible for supervising a growing education staff and helping to build a educational program for the new museum, the successful candidate should be skilled communicator, team leader, and team player.  Requirements include a masteršs degree (Ph.D. preferred) with emphasis in earth, life, or social sciences, education, museum studies, or related discipline with a minimum of 36 months (with supervisory experience) in a museum, zoo, science center, environmental education center, or similar institution.  The position is permanent with a starting salary $35,000-$37,500 plus full benefits, depending on education and experience.
