Good Morning,
When I entered the work force there were two skill sets that I did not
possess, since they were not part of my undergraduate liberal arts
education or my graduate education in museum studies.
The lacking skill sets were:
1.)	basic accounting skills, such as how to analyze a
spreadsheet, to identify those "meaningful" ratios, and to do
cost-benefit analysis; and,
	2.)	basic supervisory skills.
Thankfully, my employers provided training opportunities to acquire
these skill sets, .... and others...
There were other "lacking skill sets," but the aforementioned were the
most significant -- from my perspective and needs.
Best Wishes,
Wesley

Subject: Random Job Skills Question

Good morning, everyone.

Since I am coming up on my final two semesters of coursework for my
MA, I thought I would ask a general question. When you entered the
work force, what skillsets did you find yourself needing most often
that were not part of your academic coursework? Did you find yourself
needing clerical skills? Accounting skills?

I just happened to think about that this morning, and it seemed like
an interesting question.

Have a great day,
Garet Bleddynn
