     Call for Papers

Museums and Technology: Choices to be Made
     Association of Manitoba Museums
     25th Anniversary Annual Conference 1997
     October 16-18, Manitoba Museum, Winnipeg

The 1997 Conference theme provides wide ranging potential for papers.
Topics range from current use of technology in collections management,
E-mail, and volunteer/membership databases, through planning issues
and processes for museums contemplating computerizing their
operations, to visionary themes involving museum information on the
     Internet; multi-media/hypermedia, and visual communication.

All museums use technology. The choices range from low-tech options to
high-tech applications that afford us an opportunity to redefine our
     museum's many roles.

The due date for submission of your paper topic and abstract is June
30, 1997. Abstracts are 1-2 paragraphs in length. The presentation of
each paper at the Conference is 20 minutes plus a 10 minute question
     period.

Send submission to the AMM, 422-167 Lombard Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba,
     R3B 0T6. Tel. (204) 947-1782. Fax (204) 942-3749, E-mail:
