Tony:
We just installed Quickbooks POS retail software (bought both new software
and new hardware). It is very easy for the end user to learn, if they have
used a computer and the reports are great. However, if you choose this
software, you definitely need some serious consultant hours to install the
software, as it is not at all user friendly to set up or import your data or
configure the system to your liking. There are many little quirks in setting
the system up that we would have never figured out without the help of a
consultant. Also, the help line is staffed by many people with thick accents
that are truly hard to understand and often times they are less than
knowledgeable about the software and it may take three or four calls to get
an answer to your specific question. So, are experience is once it is set up
and in operation, it seems to work great, but getting to that point can
really test your patience.

Hope this helps,
Jamie Smith, Director FASNY Museum of Firefighting

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Museum store retail software

Looking for suggestions of a quality retail software that can handle the
museum store and admissions. (5 stations; 4 retail, 1 admissions)

Also, any issues that should be considered when choosing the software.

Thank you.
