To Rachid's question -- isn't a researcher a "visitor?" -- yes.  Does the
researcher tour the museum?  Usually not, as the visit is for a specific
purpose.  Is an admission fee charged?  Probably not.  Larger museums now
have special privileges and rooms/sections set aside for serious
researchers, so they can go about their work without interruption from the
visitors.
