Associate Curator -- Museum Services

Position Description  The Associate Curator researches, interprets and
communicates Biltmore Estate history, collections, buildings, and interiors
to those within The Biltmore Company as well as to guests and outside
parties; develops, maintains, and assists with implementation of training
materials and programs for estate staff; assists with various projects
within the Museum Services department; and prepares and presents on- and
off-site presentations.
Qualifications  This position requires a four-year degree in History, Art
History, English, or a related field; a graduate degree is preferred. A
background in education would be desirable. Candidates must also have at
least three years of previous work experience in a related field to include
demonstrated excellence in research, writing, presenting, and editing
program materials, and proven experience in program development and
implementation. Other qualifications include strong public speaking and
organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word
and Outlook; and the ability to work as a team member in a diverse
environment. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 35
pounds and climb stairs and ladders occasionally.
