Just a note which this post inspired:  I agree with your use of the word
"tragedy," Indigo, despite a previous claim by one of our colleagues that
this was NOT a tragedy.  To call the looting and vandalism of the museum a
tragedy does not diminish the significance of the tragic deaths, injuries,
and destruction of homes and personal property which the war caused.  There
are human tragedies and there are cultural tragedies.  My dictionary, after
the usual explanation of "tragedy" in the context of drama and literature,
defines "tragedy" as simply "a disastrous event."  Perhaps "tragedy" is too
weak a word for violent death and human suffering.
