Dear List Members,

I am interested in expanding my skills in packing and installation/de-
installation (including mount-making). I've completed two internships that
have given me the opportunity to do handle objects extensively and in one
instance, packing about 30 lighting fixtures for a trip to the conservator so I
feel like I have elementary experience. What I am looking for are short-term
courses that would let me know how to work in AAM/AASLH standards so I
might be eligible for an entry-level position using these skills eventually. I
plan to purchase some texts that are published by both of those
organizations, but I would really like to be learning from someone in person
and I really don't think reading on my own is a replacement for that. I'm in
the NYC area--can anyone recommend courses in this vicinity?

Additionally, I would be interested in shadowing someone in the area as an
intern/apprentice after June if anyone on the list has the name of someone
who could use an extra set of earnest hands (or could use the extra help
themselves). I would be happy to discuss this off-list and give further
background about myself.

Thank you all for your valued input--
Jackie Killian
