this is a wonderful question to forward to another listserve: new york
has a new organization called the Museum Access Consortium and they have
a new discussion group at

[log in to unmask]
<mailto:[log in to unmask]>

MAC has members from throughout the nyc area from all types of museums
and is dedicated to creating better access for all individuals at
museums (if you look it up under yahoogroups, you can see the mission
statement)

i think you have to sign up for the discussion group, but it's a pretty
straightforward process - anyone can email me directly if you have any
questions.

while direct membership is ltd to nyc museums and historic sites right
now, the listserve is completely open to EVERYONE and is there to foster
discussion and provide support regarding access issues.
