NEDCC invites you to register for an innovative conference on the creation,
use, and management of information - especially electronic information.

Dubbed The Information Ecosystem, the conference will provide you with a
frame work for understanding the complex issues surrounding new information
systems.

The registration deadline is fast approaching ( March 2, 1998) and a few
seats remain.
It will be held March 10-13, 1998
at Archives II, College Park, Maryland

The conference is especially designed for librarians, records managers,
archivists, and other managers of cultural collections.  Program heads,
division and department directors, park superintendents, information
officers, state historic preservation officers, and others from the federal
and state government, nonprofit organizations, and corporations should also
attend.

Faculty include many renowned leaders in the field of information systems
for the 21st century, including Governor John Carlin, Archivist of the
United States; Robert Stanton, Director of the National Park Service;
Clifford Lynch, Coalition for Networked Information; Howard Besser,
University of California at Berkeley; Melissa Smith Levine, Library of
Congress; Deanna Marcum, Council on Library and Information Resources;
Steve Puglia, National Archives and Records Administration; Anne Kenney,
Cornell University; Kristine Kelly, Center for Technology in Government;
Marc Pachter, Smithsonian Institution; Richard Pearce-Moses, Heard Museum;
and many others.

The fee for the conference is $285 including a comprehensive conference
manual comprised of faculty handouts; and continental breakfasts and
lunches.  Participants will be responsible for their travel and lodging
costs.
