In Smithsonian Institution museums, which are open seven days a week, routine
maintenance is simply done in the mornings before the museums open to the
public: that's all there is to it. On the other hand, exhibit installation,
which in fact can be noisy, messy, and disturbing (both to the public and to
staff with offices nearby), usually extends into public hours.
