This month the Kendall Whaling Museum is pleased to announce the
publication of THE BOOK OF PIRATE SONGS by Stuart M. Frank, Ph.D.

You will find more information about the book on our website at
http://www.kwm.org/museumshop/books/frank_piratesongs.htm

Never before have so many ballads and songs about pirates been
comprehensively gathered in a single anthology. Here a renowned authority
on sea music has expertly assembled 62 pieces from a variety of ancient and
modern sources, and arranged them in a usable and entertaining format,
covering virtually the entire literature.

A few of the songs may be familiar from the Hit Parades of long ago; others
are
obscure and have not been printed during the last century-and-a-half; a
handful
excavated from sailors’ manuscript journals are published here for the
first time -- all meticulously researched, presented with insightful
historical notes, musical notation, guitar chords, and a galaxy of period
illustrations.

Hardbound; 62 songs with words, music, guitar chords, extensive historical
annotations, index. 138 pages, 25 illustrations, gold-stamped binding,
full-color dustjacket.
