The American Association of Museums, in cooperation with
The Computer Museum in Boston, announces a special professional education
seminar:
 
                   "HIGHWAYS AND BYTEWAYS:
          COMPUTER APPLICATIONS IN MUSEUMS"
                      November 17-18, 1994
                      The Computer Museum
                              Boston, MA
 
   This seminar explores the impact of new technology on
museums.  Speakers will address advances in computer hardware and software,
the process of planning, and the use
of computers in specific aspects of museum operations and
programs--interpretation, collections management,
administration, research, etc.  While general user's
knowledge of computers is useful, this program is non-
technical in approach.
 
The seminar is for:
   Those who plan to make a change in their information
         technology
   Those who need to make better use of their current
         systems
   Those who want guidance in the new terrain of
          computerized options
 
Guest speakers include: John Chadwick, List Owner of  Museum-L; Thomas
Duncan, Director of the Museum
Informatics Project; Kathy Jones-Garmil, Program Director, Museum Computer
Network; Ann Mintz, Orlando Science
Center; Oliver Strimpel, Director, The Computer Museum, and others.
