GARDENER

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums seeks a part-time Gardener at The Cloisters. The part time gardener's responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining three cloister gardens, working on the outside grounds with the contractual crew, assisting with seasonal gallery displays and the offsite propagation facility, and interacting with museum visitors who are visiting the gardens. The gardener works directly with the two full time horticulturists from March through December. Other duties may include research, photography, keeping plant records and inventories as well as interacting with visitors attending garden programs.

Successful candidates will have prior garden experience.  Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and experience in word processing and the internet.  Must have driver's license with good standing record and be a dedicated and hard working team player.
