You should contact the Pretty Loose Association of State Museum
Associations; there is a State Museum Association list serve which this
should be posted to --visit the Texas Association of Museum's web site for
more information on this group. There is lots of information out there if
you connect with them. They have had two national meetings and have
collated lots of information on the services the state associations
provide.
There is a Field Service Alliance that meets at AASLH, made up primarily of
field service people working for state historical societies as well as some
state museum association folks. It has a manual list serve through John
Harris at Indiana Historical Society. Contact me off list for more
