Please reply to the list with this information. I have found the
previous information extremely valuable. As a graduate student in
Arts Management, I am trying to keep my fellow students abreast of
this new technology. This list has more up-to-date information
directly linking the "newtons" to the arts than other sources.

This information has already come in handy. As I discussed
educational programming and initiatives with a representative from
the National Gallery of Art two weeks ago, I discover that the
Gallery will soon be offering this technology as a touring option.
Currently they have information about approx. 100 items from their collection
programmed for computer regurgitation.

I am interested to know what other museums are using or planning to
use this technology in the coming months. My specific questions are:

What is the cost? Are computer companies help to underwrite costs to
draw attention to their product?

How many "newtons" is your museum preparing to make available to the
public?

How long will the tours last? Obviously, since it is self-guided and
self-directed they could last as short or as long as the individual
desires. But, what time restrictions are you planning to put on the
tours to ensure maximum use of the "newtons"? How will you enforce
this time limit?

How fragile are these computers?

What other questions/concerns have you wrestled with as you introduce
this new technology to your patron?

Thanks in advance for all information,
Jennifer Bransom
