I agree with videotaping the destruction as evidence.  I also suggest:

1) limiting the number of witnesses to only those necessary -- the
'destroyer', the videographer, one additional witness; and,

2) remaining conscious that the actions/audio not contain anything
inappropriate, i.e., crass commentary, clowning around, etc.
