Senior Exhibitions Manager, Traveling Exhibitions
Job Description
Salary:  $30,000 annually, plus commission and benefits package

This supervisory position will serve as Senior Exhibitions Manager for the Traveling Exhibition Service of International Arts & Artists, a non-profit arts service organization based in Washington, DC. This position reports to the Director of Exhibitions and assists with the development and management of approximately 8 to 10 traveling exhibitions within our larger program of more than 40 exhibitions on the road or in development.  Working with an Assistant Director/Head Registrar, Registrar, Venue Coordinator and supervising one Exhibition Manager who manages an additional 8 to 10 exhibitions, the role of the Senior Exhibition Manager is to successfully market and book consecutive venues on exhibition tours, develop or assist with developing all accompanying materials for an exhibition, and have all exhibitions developed on time and on budget. 

Qualification Requirements:
•	Minimum of 4 years work experience in traveling museum exhibitions, museum field or other arts related field that demonstrates an understanding of exhibition development and knowledge of museums, their practices and interests
•	Bachelors degree in an art related field 
•	Experience with developing and managing budgets
•	Experience with managing several tasks simultaneously with strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize
•	Strong written and verbal communication 

Specific Duties Includes:
•	Oversee all marketing of an exhibition including researching potential venues for traveling exhibitions through a variety of resources including a database of 1400 US Museum/150 Canadian museums that results in fully booked tours with consecutive venue periods
•	Oversee all aspects of each exhibition budget that results in exhibition coming in on budget
•	Develop marketing materials including written text for exhibitions in a variety of lengths working in conjunction with IA&A Design Studio and any outside curators, lenders and other professionals that includes: description, exhibition specifications, artist(s) biographies, curator(s) biographies, and other descriptive material
•	Develop exhibition content including panel and label text working in conjunction with Venue Coordinator, IA&A Design Studio and any outside curators, lenders and other professionals
•	Oversee all aspects of exhibition catalogue development including securing image rights when necessary and draft all IA&A preface or acknowledgement pages
•	Assists Venue Coordinator to make sure all press releases and images for press are accurate
•	Assists Venue Coordinator on creating all educational resource material working in conjunction with any outside curators, lenders and other professionals
•	Develop potential new traveling exhibitions through museum professional and lender contacts
