LAKE COUNTY DISCOVERY MUSEUM
COLLECTIONS CATALOGER

This part-time position (approx. 27 hours per week) is responsible for
compiling the automated catalog of Curt Teich Postcard Archives
materials through the analysis of postcard images and their relation to
twentieth century history and geography, and encoding of the resulting
information. Evaluates and enters accession data onto computer for
objects that have been accepted into the Lake County History Collection.
Analyze computer records for accuracy and corrects errors to ensure an
error-free catalog.  Maintain legal records (e.g. Deeds of Gift,
Temporary Registration Receipts) for the Teich Archives and the Lake
County History Collection. 

EXPERIENCE:  High school diploma. College level courses in history or
archives are preferable. Two years experience working in an archives or
with data base catalog creation to gain an understanding of the
importance of accuracy in this type of work. Familiarity with computers
and word processing and data base management software. 

Hiring range: $12.23 - $14.93.
