Please join us for the last lecture in the National Museum of American
Jewish Military History’s 1998-99 Lecture Series on Sunday, June 6 at 2:00
PM.  “Rescue and Renewal- GIs and the Displaced Persons”, a talk about the
displaced persons in Europe after World War II will be given by Guest
Curator Morton Horvitz in the National Museum’s new Study Centre.  Mr.
Horvitz is a World War II combat soldier who later worked with displaced
persons.  His talk will follow the screening of a video titled “GIs
Remember” about postwar Germany which was shown on the Discovery Channel.
The National Museum will produce and display an exhibit, Rescue and
Renewal- GIs and the Displaced Persons, in the fall of 1999 in conjunction
with a major displaced persons project being conducted by the Holocaust
Memorial Museum, the Library of Congress and the National Archives.  The
lecture will also be part of the National Museum’s participation in the
Dupont-Kalorama Museum Consortium’s 16th Annual Walk Weekend ’99.
Refreshments will be served.
