-- Apologies for the cross-postings--

We want you to share your knowledge and experience!

Start a session proposal today so your contribution can enhance the 2015 AAM Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo (http://aam-us.org/events/annual-meeting).

The theme of the meeting, "The Social Value of Museums: Inspiring Change (http://aam-us.org/events/annual-meeting/2015-annual-meeting-theme)" will offer a deeper understanding about the critical role museums play in social development to address a diverse range of social and human needs.

We invite session proposers to consider some of the following questions:

* What does it mean to advance the social engagement of museums?
* Is this a role that museums should embrace?
* How are museums addressing human and social needs through their programs, practices and operations?
* What kind of training and staff will be required to sustain this effort?
* What benefits derive from the social role of museums and how do we measure success?
* How do we identify the social problems that we have the capacity to help solve? What strategies should we employ?
* How will we communicate the valuable role we play globally in addressing social issues?

The entire museum field needs your great ideas, so be sure to submit session proposals (http://www.aam-us.org/events/annual-meeting/sessions) early. In fact, the earlier the better; early submission lets colleagues comment on-and improve-your session via our open forum.

Interested in what proposals have already been created? Login (http://www.aam-us.org/login) to our website to view and comment (http://www.aam-us.org/events/annual-meeting/sessions) on what your colleagues are working on.

Submission Deadline is Aug. 25.
