For the sake of historical accuracy, you should stick with the original
name. Someone, later, might want to go back and look at the history of
collecting in your museum.

Subject: Museum Name Change and Wall Label Credits

We are curious to find out if there are other museums that have changed
their names and how credit has been given to objects in your collections
that were obtained under the earlier name. If, for instance, the object
was obtained under the "Madison Art Center Purchase Fund", have you also
changed the credit on the wall label to "The New Museum Name Purchase Fund"
after the name change?
