The Texas Association of Museums has the following newly created position
available:

PROGRAM ASSOCIATE, TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF MUSEUMS.
The Texas Association of Museums seeks a qualified person experienced in
planning and implementing professional education programs to fill a newly
created, full-time position.  Responsibilities relate to workshops and
sessions for the TAM Annual Meeting and a fall workshop series in 1998
funded by the Institute for Museum Services.  The Program Associate will
work closely with TAM staff and members of the TAM Program Committee in
planning session/workshop topics, contacting speakers, developing written
descriptions of programs, publicizing programs, and evaluation of
programs.   Responsibilities include travel, requiring attendance at TAM
Annual Meetings and workshops throughout the state.  Qualifications
include:  College degree with two or more years of experience relating to
planning and implementing education/professional education programs,
demonstrated writing ability, attention to detail, good communication
skills, expertise with Windows word processing, a general knowledge of
museums, and willingness to travel on occasion.  This position begins
April 1, 1997.  Salary range is $18-22,000 annually, commensurate with
