Tracy,

While this doesn't directly address museum collection policies, the Center
for History and New Media has been working on methods to collect digital
files via the web. One of their most recognizable projects was the September
11 Digital Archive that allowed visitors to submit digital photos via the
web. Roy Rosenzweig and Daniel Cohen recently published "Digital History"
(see below) that contains lots of lessons learned from CHNM projects.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Donating digital images

Hi. Does anyone have sample guidelines for the donation of digital images
(or collections of digital images)?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!
Tracy Sullivan
