Some 2-pak polyurethane paints are acceptable as well eg: Mirotone though
check the tech specifications to ensure it meets required standards. In
Australia we also specify the type of plywood the preferred being a species
of pine called Hoop Pine a high quality veneer that sees use in both the
construction and furniture industries. However it will come down to the glue
used to join the veneers of the ply usually an A bond that if it can be
avoided due to formaldehyde present in favour of water based glue.

With 2-pak polyurethane paints, a 6-week period is advisable for off
gassing.

Subject: Re: off gassing from plywood

Does anyone know the correct way to seal plywood to prevent "off-gassing"?
It has been recommended that we use PolyGlaze 146, which is quiet expensive.
Would anything else suffice? Would acrylic latex paint be acceptable or does
it "off-gas" as well?

Thank you
