We're hiring for a registrar in the curatorial shop of the U.S. House of Representatives. We're a fun bunch, so here are the details, and a link to the vacancy announcement at the bottom: 

Position Available: Collections Specialist

Salary Level/Range:	Up to $62,845.00
Proposed Starting Date:	Immediate



Responsible for supporting management and care of the House Collection of Fine Art and Historical Artifacts, focusing on registration. Under the direction of the Collections Manager, the candidate maintains inventory and records, coordinates movement of the collection, which includes frequent hands-on tasks. Works with the Manager of Collections and Curator on exhibition planning, installation, and assists with curatorial projects including research and cataloging of collection objects. Works in a small work station in an office environment without an expectation of privacy where noise levels are usually moderate.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in History of Art, History, Museum Studies and/or progressively responsible related experience. A Master’s degree is preferred. Professional experience working with collections of at least two years in length is required. Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant and professional manner. Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills. Ability to exercise discretion in fulfillment of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility to work as a member of a team performing shared duties. Must be competent in the operation of IBM-PC compatibles, multi-tasked oriented and able to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
