Just a suggestion: Is there a school/university that has a photographic
class that might be able to take the pictures and develop them as a
project. When I taught a photo class, we did such a project and I used a
high school class for another project.
Hope this helps. Good luck on the project. Why not digital and make
prints in black and white?

Please reply to the list. We are also facing this issue at my site. In

order to improve object files, the small museum where I work would like
a
black and white image of each object in the collection taken with a film

camera. It appears the cost of having all that black and white film
developed would be prohibitive, however. I too am concerned about the
image permanence of digital prints but it appears to be the only
affordable option for a site that does not do in-house photographic
developing.
